Timetable Structure Course Content

9.00am INTRODUCTIONS OF SPEAKERS & BUQI SYSTEM & APPLICATIONS Introduction of Speakers: Speaker: Mara Introduce Buqi Generally and motivation for bringing Buqi to this audience. Introduce Self to the group – qualifications, work life, affiliations and daily applications of Buqi in work life (Jo will need a translator while Mara is speaking to be able to respond appropriately) Speaker: Jo Translated to group by Mara Introduce Self to the group - qualifications, work life, affiliations and daily applications. Introduction of Buqi System: General Introduction of the Buqi system and the work of Dr Shen (include that it is a comprehensive training system) Who is Dr Shen? Buqi Practitioners across Europe and TWG teachers. This course is an introduction to Buqi and how it is applied. Introduction of Buqi for Horses: Course held in 2001 in Holland. Some experiences and results seen. Speaker: Mara Introduction of Buqi for Small Animals: Please outline your content here………… Your experience and results perhaps. COFFEE BREAK PRACTICAL SESSION For audience to have taste of Buqi type work/internal forces work. Theory First. JO & MARA explain together Introduction to Buqi Explain an overview of the main ingredients of Buqi; · vibration force · auto-corrective spontaneous movement. · Earth force and other forces · Binqi and relevance of ‘binqi out’. · Cleaning exercises The Buqi Practitioner learns to understand these forces must develop self internally. Invite audience to experience the beginning of that. While sitting – explain arms lengthening and out to floor – combine breath with lengthening. Sweat Breaking Exercise – Preparatory Posture with warm-up Discussion/questions/feedback from exercise. Lunch Speaker: Mara Some more about Buqi system What is binqi? The nature of binqi and how the practitioner works with it to engage self healing in client. Why posture is important? The effects of bad body posture. Binqi as the cause of disease. Speaker: Jo An introduction to the DVC and the double-double vicious circle with regard to horses/animals What the Buqi practitioner must do in order to be able to treat a person/animal in terms of having completed journey of ‘own development’. Body position – sitting, working, sleeping Speaker: Jo & Mara Sweat breaking exercise – pushing forwards and reasons for working with pushing forwards with explanations about opening joints and ligs. BREAK Speaker: Jo Some more about DVC and how it relates to horses. Speaker: Mara Some more about DVC and how it relates to small animals Perhaps a Buqi Demo on a person???????? And/or a small animal? EXERCISE Arm swinging, heel pushing or other according to needs. Another standing posture if time. DAY 2 - PRACTICAL MORNING Good morning. Discussions on from day before. Questions and thoughts. EXERCISE Pushing to sides as cleaning exercise Bringing force up back and out to hands to open ‘back line’. BREAK Jo to make a demonstration on a horse or two (?) Are horses available? Discussion. LUNCH Mara to demonstrate on a small animal Discussion. BREAK Concluding thoughts. Anecdotes and experiences. What next? Future courses with Dr Shen, etc. The basis of giving a Buqi treatment rests in self-development always first. Preliminary exercises to include: As introduction: Massaging the hand Shaking out the feet Arm swinging Heel breathing Suggested exercises for sweat-breaking: Preparatory position – with full description and Pushing forwards Pushing to sides Opening and closing – hands pushing together in front of body. Linzhi position Explanations to include: Posture during exercise Kidney point of foot connection with ground Pain/binqi out of the body Relationship of earth and legs How to open joints, hip joint, groin, bring earth force to dantien and lowering of centre of gravity to activate the dantien. Practical Experiences/Theory Practitioners Horses (Jo) Theory · The double double viciouscircle how it relates to the horse/human dynamic. · Body posture of the horse and how binqi accumulates and affects the horse. · The effects of the rider on the horse · The effects of the ‘carer’ and ‘trainer’ on the horse. · Some particular examples of natural v traditional husbandry practises and their effects on the horse. · Discuss natural lifestyle of horses, group dynamics, emotional needs, effects of shoeing, effects of being ridden, effects of diet and effects of relationship with owner. · Horse vices and remedies. · Practical functions of Buqi on musculo-skeletal system, on emotional system, on organs, as feedback tool and as part of maintenance. Case Studies and testimonials A small selection of case studies to review and discuss. Responses of horses seen and evaluations made. Discussion and ‘question & answer’. Practical Demo To work on a horse or donkey in situ. To review musculo-skeletal tensions seen, conformation, emotional demeanour of horse, etc. Carry out Buqi session. Point out the responses of the horse and whether usual or unusual. Describe diagnosis made. Explain Buqi treatment further through discussion around this particular session. Dogs and cats (Mara) Theory · The double double vicious circle how it relates to the dog or cat/human dynamic. · Body posture of the cat/dog and how binqi accumulates and affects them. · The effects of the owner on the cat/dog · The effects of the ‘trainer’ on the dog. · Discuss natural lifestyle of cats and dogs, emotional needs, effects of diet and effects of relationship with owner. Practical functions of Buqi on musculo-skeletal system, on emotional system, on organs, as feedback tool and as part of maintenance. Case Studies and testimonials A small selection of case studies to review and discuss. Responses of dogs and cats seen and evaluations made. Discussion and ‘question & answer’. Practical Demo To work on a cat or dog in situ. To review musculo-skeletal tensions seen, conformation, emotional demeanour of cat, dog, etc. Carry out Buqi session.
